In the 80s, FGTH provided the songs Relax and The Power of Love to the film Bony and peace in the then communist regime for a symbolic £1. The song Relax became a cult thing for Czechoslovakia before the revolution in 1989. I love their Relax New York Mix, which is produced by none other than Trevor Horn himself. This somehow found its way onto the "1001 songs you must hear before you die" list. Wouldn't have been my choice, but it's a worthy exercise to listen to a variety of different style.

I saw them live in Nijmegen (NL) i think they opened for Elvis Costello they got of stage and their last Song went on for half an hour it was terribly loud it was a ok

Diese Sendung habe ich damals "LIVE" am TV miterleben dürfen . Auch aufgenommem, mit meinem VIDEO 2000 Recorder. Das Publikum passt eher zum Musikantenstadl, denn die wirken überfordert mit dieser INDEPENDENT Musik 😩

Kitchen Club- South Beach 89 when that part of Miami was raggedy af but the best scene ever. Saw these guys perform at the pool deck of the dive hotel that Kitchen was in the ground floor of. Damn the mid 80s to early 90s were some good dancing.

Holly's moves weren't quite yet 'refined', shall we say. In the year 2000 I was working in a 2nd hand record shop just off Fulham Broadway. A well dressed chap in his early 40s came up to the counter with a record he wanted to put behind so he could come collect and pay for it later. My two colleagues and I were all looking at the guy, trying to conceal our excitement - partly to look a bit nonchalant (the default setting for the 'too cool for school' vibe of the typical London record shop worker who comes across and serves notable musicians/celebrities pretty regularly) and partly not to freak out or intimidate the customer. In this situation we would bag up the record and write the name on it (the bag of course, not the record!). Before we could ask, the pleasant chap declared in his unmistakable scouse accent 'the name's Ho-leee'. We all stood there, collectively thinking 'we fucking know who you are mate!' He turned on his toes and left. Sadly I wasn't in on the day he came back for it otherwise my thrill levels would have exploded about the shop. It was, on the surface, a very short, business like transaction to most people but meeting Holly Johnson in person for that minute was such a thrill that I'm still boring people with the anecdote nearly 25 years later. Great stuff! 👍

I played this LP constantly back in the day. I knew my love for records like this when I was a lad made me different from other kids in some fundamental way. On an intellectual level I didn't understand why this was the case one bit, but felt quite deeply on an intuitive one. That's the power of music.
